The History of Southern Woods & Waters

Hugh McNaughten became involved in speaking at seminars for the �Hunter�s Night Out� programs for the Tennessee Farmer�s Cooperative based in LaVergne, TN. This allowed Hugh to meet local celebrities such as Jimmy Holt and Bill Hall. They asked Hugh to do some things that he gladly accepted thus launching his goal to one day have his own show.

In 2001, Hugh decided to try and start a show. He contacted Jimmy Holt and �picked his brain� about the ins and outs of television. His knowledge and advice still lead Hugh today.


Later in 2001, Hugh approached Doug Markham with his ideas for a show and the television show �Outdoors With Doug and Hugh� was created and debuted in 2002.

In 2007, Doug and Hugh decided to go their separate ways so Hugh started a new show called Southern Woods & Waters.

Hosting Southern Woods & Waters has allowed Hugh to meet some of the most incredible people of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama and form friendships that will, hopefully, last a lifetime.
