photo-2Essential Vinaigrette

½ cup olive oil

¼ cup vinegar of choice

1 teaspoon honey or sweetener of choice

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

2-5 drops of essential oil of choice (black pepper, basil, lemon, rosemary, thyme, wild orange, or a combination)  I like black pepper, rosemary and thyme  – 1 drop each.

Salt and pepper to taste

Add ingredients to a ½ pint mason jar.  Shake it.  Makes about ¾ cup.

 

Essential Flavor Mist

1 oz. food-grade oil (olive, etc.) or filtered water

5 – 10 drops of essential oil

Put all the oils in a 2 ounce glass spray bottle.  Shake it up!  Spray onto food before serving.  Store it in a cool dark place.

Possible flavor combinations

Lemon – fish, chicken, vegetables, fruit

Lime and Ginger – stir fry

Black Pepper – meat

Wild Orange – salads, fruit

Cilantro and Lime – fajitas, salsa, rice

Fennel – pizza

Culinary essential oils (ask to make sure they are safe to be ingested!)

Basil, bergamot, black pepper, cassia, cinnamon, coriander, fennel, ginger, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, lime, marjoram, oregano, peppermint, rosemary, thyme, wild orange
