Cook turkey on stove in chicken broth, 1/2 stick real butter, chopped onions, garlic, celery. Let cook until very tender. I had some baby carrots and added them to my turkey about the last 12 minutes of cooking so they will not fall apart from cooking. I always use some of my mixed dried herbs from Flowers Garden Center, too. Add your chicken gravy mix (I use McCormicks dried) and reduce to low. I cook mine down where there is a little juice in the pan. Let mixture cool enough so you can shred your turkey … I just use my hands. Place all in a large bowl and set aside.
- 1 package of chicken gravy mix
- 2 cups (8oz. Package) of cheese of choice. I usually use Mexican four cheese mixture.
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 stick of real butter
- Cooked rice
- I also like sliced water chestnuts and sliced almonds are also good.
Place in a 9×13 glass greased cooking dish and bake about 20 minutes.
