1 pint oysters
1 quart water
1 can evaporated milk
1stick of butter
1 tsp pepper
Bring oysters to a boil in salted water. Turn heat down to a medium simmer and continue to cook oysters for 10 min. Turn heat to low and add the can of evap. milk and the entire stick of butter. Simmer on low for 5 more minutes then eat!
This is the basic recipe I’ve made forever but lately because Ken likes mushrooms so much, I have been sautéing a small onion and 2 or 3 thinly sliced baby portabellas in about 2 tbls of butter until they are soft and adding it to the stew. That’s tasty too.
