A favorite all across the South, pecan pie is especially welcome during the holiday season. This recipe was with us by Mary Ann Haubenreich of Knoxville, Tennessee.
- 3 well-beaten eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup melted butter
- ½ cup white corn syrup
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Mix eggs, sugar, corn syrup, butter and vanilla.
- Add chopped pecans.
- Fill unbaked pie shell.
- Bake at 400o F for 10 minutes then at 350oF for 35 to 40 minutes
Serve warm or cool, alone or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (Turkey Hill Traditional Vanilla from Kroger’s is the best.)
